The optimal placement of the pickup
Of course, you want to achieve the perfect sound. Where you place your piezo pickup (also called a contact microphone) depends on the characteristics of your instrument and on your desired sound.
For example, positioning on or behind the bridge is common. However, to get the best sound quality and your desired sound out of your instrument, it is recommended to test different pickup positions..
For a full, clear sound
Do you want a full, clear sound, it is recommended to place the EP-1 pickup on the left or right side of the bridge of your guitar. This positioning is the most commonly used. We recommend it especially for the concert guitar.
For a mid-emphasized, individual sound
If you want a mid-emphasized, individual sound, then you should mount the Easypick EP-1 on your guitar behind the bridge. We highly recommend this position for acoustic guitar (acoustic guitar).
For perfect Stereo-Sound
For a incomparable Stereo-Soundyou will need two pickups. Position one pickup on each side of the bridge of your instrument. Connect both pickups to the stereo channel of your mixer. Alternatively, use two mono channels and turn one pan knob to the left and the other to the right. You will be amazed by the superior sound experience!
How to attach the Easypick EP-1 pickup to your guitar
After you have answered the question of “where” for yourself, the question of “how” arises. For mounting on the instrument, our Easypick EP-1 pickups for acoustic guitars, acoustic guitars and other stringed instruments are supplied together with a kneading mass (adhesive mass).
To attach the pickup, you only need a small amount of modeling clay. Shape it into a small, pea-sized ball and first press it gently onto the lower, silver-colored surface of the Easypick EP-1. Then apply light pressure to attach the microphone to the desired location on the instrument.
Be careful to apply only slight pressure to the instrument so that it is not damaged!
Easypick EP-1 with various connection options
Connection to an XLR input of a mixing console
The Easypick in the P variant can be operated directly on an XLR input of a mixing console, an amp (acoustic amplifier) or a mobile recorder with 48V phantom power. Simple plug & play.
Connection to a guitar amplifier or effect device

If, as with jack inputs, 48V phantom power is not available, use our BPU-1 battery power supply unit, which is already included with our Easypick EP-1 system in the B variant. This unit feeds the pickup autonomously via the built-in lithium battery. Thus, you no longer need phantom power.
